Ces cartes, auxquelles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retranch\u00e9s\u00a0leurs signes linguistiques, donnent \u00e0 voir, au travers de leurs silhouettes et de leurs symboles cartographiques ais\u00e9ment identifiables, une repr\u00e9sentation codifi\u00e9e des\u00a0conflits du monde. Comme les anagrammes qui forment son titre et dont on pr\u00e9tend qu\u2019ils d\u00e9couvrent parfois le sens cach\u00e9 des mots, l\u2019\u00e9trange atlas de Denis Briand d\u00e9voile l\u2019envers des cartes et r\u00e9v\u00e8le l\u2019impens\u00e9 des pratiques cartographiques.<\/p>\n<p>Recueil d\u2019images que l\u2019on contemple pour le plaisir de l\u2019\u0153il, il s\u2019offre aussi comme un livre destin\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019exercer, comme un manuel qui met \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve la m\u00e9moire de notre savoir g\u00e9ographique. \u00c0 la fois famili\u00e8res et \u00e9tranges, les cartes de l\u2019<em>Atlas<\/em> sollicitent un travail de reconnaissance mais s\u2019emploient aussi \u00e0 d\u00e9router notre m\u00e9moire cartographique. \u00c0 voir ou \u00e0 contempler, le <em>Petit Atlas des irritations du monde<\/em> semble relever d\u2019une cartographie fictive qui a vocation \u00e0 focaliser l\u2019attention sur l\u2019\u00e9conomie visuelle des cartes et \u00e0 interroger ce que nos \u00ab\u00a0lectures\u00a0\u00bb y projettent.
