These removed elements lead the reader floor by floor through the missing buildings towards the final page where the footprint of the entire site of the World Trade Center is die-cut into a delicate lattice of absent structures. The simplicity of Yoon\u2019s materials and her use of repetition speak, without words, about unspeakable loss. Awarded the United States Artist Award in Architecture and Design in 2008, the Athena RISD Emerging Designer Award in 2008, Architecture Record\u0092s Design Vanguard Award in 2007, the Architecture League\u0092s Emerging Voices Award in 2007, and the Rome Prize in Design in 2005, Yoon\u0092s work has been widely recognized for its innovative and interdisciplinary nature.
