SERVICE: A Trilogy on Colonization, escrito por Martha Rosler, \u00e9 um livro de artista publicado pela primeira vez em 1978 pela Printed Matter (Nova Iorque). <\/span>\u00c9 composto por tr\u00eas hist\u00f3rias curtas que exploram os diferentes aspectos da produ\u00e7\u00e3o e consumo de alimentos, com o humor que distingue a arte de Martha Rosler. <\/span>As hist\u00f3rias em sua forma original, antes de serem editados neste livro, foram enviadas pelo correio pela pr\u00f3pria artista, tal como uma s\u00e9rie de cart\u00f5es postais, um a cada cinco ou sete dias. <\/span>As hist\u00f3rias de tr\u00eas personagens femininas a respeito de comida confirmam a consci\u00eancia da artista sobre a gastronomia e as pr\u00e1ticas sociais que regulam os alimentos, narradas atrav\u00e9s de uma abordagem <\/span><\/span>pol\u00edtica e <\/span><\/span>“feminina”. <\/span>Como muitas vezes acontece em performances de Rosler – entre as mais conhecidas, o v\u00eddeo “Semi\u00f3tica da Cozinha” (1975) – e de forma coerente com sua ideologia feminista, a cozinha torna-se uma arena para desconstruir o papel tradicional das mulheres.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SERVICE: A Trilogy on Colonization written by Martha Rosler, is an artist’s book published for the first time in 1978 by Printed Matter (New York). It consists of three short stories \u2013 the third of which also translated in spanish \u2013 exploring the different aspects of food production and consumption, with the deadpan humour that distinguishes Martha Rosler’s art expression. The stories in their original form, before being edited in this rare book, have been mailed by the artist herself, as a series of postcards, one every five or seven days. The stories of the three female characters, based on the food subject, confirm the artist’s awareness about gastronomy and social practices governing food, narrated through a “feminine” and political approach. As often happens in Rosler’s performances – among the best known the video Semiotics of the Kitchen (1975) \u2013 and coherently with her feminist ideology, the kitchen becomes an arena for deconstructing the traditional role of women.<\/p>\n
